We may share applicant information only as needed for scholarship administration, such as:
Internal review by the Rivas Family Foundation scholarship committee
Service providers used to collect or store submissions, such as Microsoft tools if the
application is hosted through SharePoint or Microsoft Forms
We do not share applicant information with third parties for marketing purposes.

We store scholarship submissions in secure systems used by the Foundation and
authorized administrators.
We retain application information for as long as necessary to:

Support renewals, verification, or recordkeeping

Our scholarship program is intended for graduating high school seniors. If an applicant is
under 18, submission of the application confirms that a parent or guardian is aware of
the application.

Scholarship Terms and Disclosure
Effective date: February 1, 2026
These Scholarship Terms and Disclosure apply to all applicants submitting an application to the Rivas Family Foundation Scholarship Program.
Awards include:
Three Latino Student Scholarships
One Adrian Rivas Scholarship for students pursuing special education
Each scholarship award is $1,000 per semester and is renewable for up to four years, provided renewal requirements are met.
2. Important dates
Application Opens: February 15, 2026
Application Deadline: March 30, 2026
Award Notifications Sent: May 1, 2026
Late submissions may not be considered.
3. Eligibility
To be eligible, applicants must:
Be a graduating high school senior in Oklahoma
Plan to enroll full time at an accredited college or university
Have a minimum 2.5 GPA
Additional eligibility by scholarship type:
Latino Student Scholarships: Applicants must identify as Latino
Adrian Rivas Scholarship: Applicants must be pursuing a path related to special education
Immigration status:
Applicants do not need to be documented to apply.
4. Application requirements
Applicants may be required to submit:
Completed application form
Essay responses to prompts listed in the application
Official or unofficial transcript
One letter of recommendation
Any additional documents requested in the application
Applicants are responsible for ensuring all materials are submitted by the deadline.
5. Selection criteria
Scholarship recipients are selected based on a holistic review that may include:
Academic achievement
Essay strength and clarity
Leadership and involvement
Resilience and personal story
Community involvement
Alignment with the Foundation’s mission
The Foundation reserves the right to verify information provided by applicants.
6. Notifications and acceptance
Award notifications will be sent on May 1, 2026, using the email address provided in
the application.
If selected, recipients may be required to:
Confirm acceptance within a specified timeframe
Provide proof of enrollment and other verification documents before funds are issued
7. Distribution of funds
Scholarship funds are intended to support educational expenses.
The Foundation may issue funds:
Directly to the recipient, or
Directly to the recipient’s school
Distribution details, including timing and method, may be provided in the award notification.
8. Renewal requirements
Scholarships are renewable for up to four years if recipients:
Maintain at least a 2.5 GPA
Remain enrolled full time at an accredited college or university
Provide documentation required for renewal when requested
Failure to meet renewal requirements may result in loss of future funding.
9. Program changes and limitations
The Rivas Family Foundation reserves the right to:
Modify deadlines, eligibility requirements, selection criteria, or award amounts
Disqualify applicants for incomplete applications or false information
Cancel the scholarship program if necessary
Void where prohibited by law.
